Policy on Closure of Unpaid Traffic Citation Cases

 

 

A.  GENERAL POLICY:

 

It is the policy of the Board of Judicial Policy and Administration that if a traffic citation is not paid in full within ten years of issuance, the court may order the case closed and the file destroyed. 

 

B.  EXCLUSIONS:

 

This policy statement does not apply to non-traffic misdemeanors or driving under the influence charges that are written on a citation.
